I grew up in a house full of singers, Dad, David Sorin Collyer was in Vaudeville and on Broadway and then became one of the country's most prominent voice teachers, Mom, Nanci Sorin Collyer is also a performer and voice teacher, my Godmother, Helen Hobbs Jordan was a teacher to Tony Bennett, Melissa Manchester . . . It's no wonder that show business is in my blood!
I studied with the great Stella Adler at her conservatory where I learned so much from her presence alone.
I started working on television, in soap operas, recording children's albums for Polygram Records and performing in nightclubs until my father asked me to collaborate with him and carry on his work. I apprenticed with him for two years before I started to teach.
In the past couple of years I have mainly concentrated on teaching, directing and coaching.
