Ingrid Saxon's experience ranges from TV, soaps, commercials, jingles, demos, Children’s albums, theatre, events, night clubs, concerts. Some of the venues include the famous Rainbow Room and Merkin Hall near Lincoln Center.

Show business is in Ingrid's blood. Her father, David Sorin-Collyer performed in Vaudeville, numerous Broadway Shows and concerts, before his second career as one of this country's foremost voice teachers.

Ingrid's mother, Nanci Sorin Collyer sings with symphonies & in night clubs across the country. Nanci now resides in Palm Desert, California, where she is still very active teaching and performing in shows and concerts.

Ingrid also grew up close to her Godmother, the distinguished Helen Hobbs Jordan, who was not only her musicianship teacher, but taught Tony Bennett, Melissa Manchester, Marlene Verplank, Leslie Gore (etc.) as well!

Ingrid remembers, "My early memories include Helen taking me, draped in her mink coat, to the Plaza, the Russian Tea Room, & Carnegie Hall."

Helen was honored a couple of years ago by Women in Music along with Keely Smith and Ronnie Spector. One of her biggest fans, Bucky Pizzarelli (John's Dad!) presented her with the award. For two of her birthdays Bucky, Gene Bertoncini & Howard Alden played for her. Like the song which was written for her 80th birthday party goes . . . She taught me about Meter & Rhythm and Life!

At a very young age I had the opportunity to study in a summer program . During the day we took classes, in the evenings we were in productions. My first role was Helen Keller in Miracle Worker. Later I studied with the great Stella Adler at her conservatory. In 1994 I started to apprentice with my father to learn his method of Controlled Relaxation and carry on his work.

I had the distinct honor and privilege of performing in concert with my Dad. It was a true sharing and expression of love. I owe it to his memory, to myself, and to the people who love what I do, to take this legacy and soar.
